Dear Readers,
Thank you for making the Raine
Stockton series such a success!
Like you, I have been a reader of
dog mysteries for years, but I
always felt there was something
missing. I wanted to read about
a real heroine with real dogs--
dogs who weren't always perfect,
but who never failed to fill the
page with their winning doggie
ways. Raine is just a woman
trying to make a living doing what
she loves-- training dogs-- in a
small town in the heart of the
Smoky Mountains. She has
ex-husband problems, financial
problems, neighbor problems and
dog problems, just like anyone
else. Cisco is a two year old
Golden Retriever who's doing the
best he can to keep Raine
happy-- but, like any Golden, he
manages to get into plenty of
mischief in the process! Even
when Cisco and Raine aren't
assisting the local police or the
Department of Natural
Resources with wilderness
searches, they find more than
enough of trouble on their
own--whether they are tracking
down rampaging bears, stumbling
over dead bodies, or rescuing
stray dogs with unsavory
connections. I love writing about
this adventuresome team and all
their friends in Hanover County,
North Carolina, and I hope you
will continue to enjoy reading
about them. If you'd like to
know about me and how I came
to write the Raine Stockton
series, you can read an interview
here. I've also included some
photos of what I've been up to
with some of my favorite dogs.
Enjoy!
