About Donna Ball Donna Ball published her first book in 1982. Since that time she has written over eighty works of commercial fiction under pseudonyms that include Rebecca Flanders, Donna Carlisle, Leigh Bristol, Taylor Brady, and Donna Boyd. She is known for her work in women’s fiction and suspense, as well as supernatural fantasy and adventure. Her novels have been translated into well over a dozen languages and have been published in virtually every country in the world. She has appeared on Entertainment Tonight and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, and has been featured in such publications as the Detroit Free Press, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, and even T.V. Guide. She is the holder of the Storytelling World award, 2001, the Georgia Author of the Year Award, 2000, Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Awards for consecutive years 1991-1996, the Georgia Romance Writer’s Maggie Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Romantic Times, among others.
Her books have been published by Warner, Simon & Schuster, Random House, Ballantine Books, St. Martin’s Press, Doubleday, Avon Books/Hearst Corporation, G.P. Putnam/Penguin, and Harlequin/Silhouette. Additionally, she is a founding partner in the small press BelleBooks, and is founder and president of Blue Merle Publishing. Her most recent titles, under the pseudonym Donna Boyd, are THE PASSION and THE PROMISE, and, writing as Donna Ball, The Raine Stockton Dog Mystery Series: SMOKY MOUNTAIN TRACKS, RAPID FIRE and GUNSHY . All are now in paperback in bookstores everywhere.
Donna lives in a restored nineteenth century barn in the heart of the Blue Ridge Divide, where she teaches writing and offers coaching services for writers around the country. She is an active volunteer for Friends of the Library, the local humane shelter, Canine Companions for Independence, Therapy Dogs International, and several animal rescue groups. She also owns and operates The Pet Coach (www.thepetcoach.net), a dog training and behavioral consultation service. In her spare time she enjoys painting, hiking, and competing in various canine sports.
